Our communities

It is our aim to create communities where people really want to live.  As well as maintaining and investing in our housing, we do this through a our wider community projects.

Community Fund

We have funding available to support projects and events in our communities. If you have a brilliant idea for how you can improve your community then our Community Fund, through Cairn Housing Association, might be just what you’ve been waiting for. You might have loads of enthusiasm and great ideas for projects and improvements in your community but you need funding to get plans off the ground. What are you waiting for? Get your application in now!

Small Steps

If you are suffering from mild mental health problems or are feeling overwhelmed with events in your life, then this free service is for you. The project aims to increase confidence and self-esteem by delivering holistic and bespoke assistance to customers such as one-to-one and group counselling sessions to reduce levels of loneliness, depression and isolation. We also run free holistic treatments such as reiki, Swedish massage, ear candling, Indian head massage, meditation and yoga. You can find out more and self-refer in our Small Steps Counselling leaflet and Small Steps Holistic Treatments leaflet.

Helping Hands

We offer a free Helping Hands service for older and disabled Ancho tenants. To qualify, you must be in a household where everyone is over 70 years old or in receipt of Personal Independence Payment and live alone. We carry out jobs such as fitting blinds and curtains, replacing lightbulbs, hanging pictures, fitting shelves and moving furniture. You can find out more in our leaflet.

Handyman Service

Our handyman service was created to provide tenants and owners within our housing areas the opportunity of getting minor repairs and grounds maintenance completed in and around their home at an affordable price. We carry out jobs such as cutting grass, disposal of bulky household items, gutter cleaning, changing locks, building flat pack furniture. You can find costs and more information in our leaflet.
