Friends of the Harbour Art Centre are delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding by the National Lottery through the Celebrate programme to deliver a series of creative workshops and events in North and East Ayrshire from March through to August 2014. You are cordially invited to come along to our Community Open Day on Saturday 22nd of March 2014 which is taking place in Suite One (ANCHO) at Sovereign House, Academy Road, Irvine, KA12 8RL between 2pm and 5pm.
We will be presenting our commonwealth introduction detailing our project and encourage everyone to get involved in taster sessions of our creative workshops, which will include: Art, Film Production, Animation and Music. As part of our project we have scheduled a Summer Theatre School as well as our week-end of events which will include theatre performances and film premiers to be presented at the Harbour Arts Centre in August 2014.
For more detailed information and to register to take part in our free creative workshops please e-mail Evelyn at firstname.lastname@example.org for full details.
ANCHO Director, Elaine Gibson, has been selected to stand for election as Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Housing. If successful, Elaine, currently Chair of CIH Scotland, will automatically become national President of the organisation in 2015. CIH Members all over the UK will be invited to vote for Elaine or two other candidates when the ballot begins on 14 March 2015.
Elaine, this week chairing the CIH Scotland Conference at the SECC in Glasgow, said, 'I am immensely honoured to be selected to stand for election to this leadership position within the Chartered Institute of Housing. My involvement with CIH stretches back over the last 25 years of my 33 year career, and this has always been a source of support, knowledge and networking which has helped me to progress to my current position. I hope that CIH Members nationally understand my commitment to CIH and cast their votes for me positively.'
ANCHO Chair, Jackie Browne, said, 'We had an excellent year in 2013 and it looks like 2014 is shaping up to be even better. We are so proud that Elaine has been selected to stand as CIH Vice President. Her involvement with CIH has enabled ANCHO's profile to be raised nationally, and for the good work we do here in Ayrshire to be recognised more widely. We wish her good luck.'
