Apply for a house

ANCHO is a partner of the North Ayrshire Housing Register (NAHR), you can view and download an application form, guidance notes and application for accessible housing below.
What is the North Ayrshire Housing Register (NAHR)
The North Ayrshire Housing Register (NAHR) is a shared housing register made up of people who are looking for social housing in North Ayrshire. The NAHR landlords allocate their empty houses to these people. By filling in one application form, you can be considered for housing by all the landlords.

The North Ayrshire Housing Register (NAHR) landlords are:

  • North Ayrshire Council
  • ANCHO
  • Cunninghame Housing Association
  • Irvine Housing Association

Who can apply for housing?
Anyone aged 16 or older may apply for housing. You can apply on your own as a single applicant or apply with other people and have a joint application.

What do I need to do to get onto the NAHR?
You can download and complete a housing application form, get forms from all our offices or apply online.

We can help you to fill this in if you have difficulty. All you need to do is contact one of our offices to arrange an office interview or, in some cases, we may arrange a home visit if you are not able to come into one of our offices. We will also provide support services if you ask us, such as language interpreters or a signer if you need one.

The application guide will help you to fill in the form and advise what proof you need to send with your form.

You can apply for an accessible housing assessment if you, or a member of your household, have a health issue or disability that affects your ability to carry out day-to-day living activities in your home. You need to have already registered an NAHR application for housing.

To see how Welfare Reform could affect your application, please review the NAHR Welfare Reform leaflet.
Our mission is to create neighbourhoods where people want to live
