About Us‎ > ‎

Membership

ANCHO is committed to promoting a wide membership. This will ensure that there is an active pool of people who have expressed an interest in our work and enhance our accountability to the communities within which we operate. It will ensure that the opportunity is available for all tenants and others who receive a service from us to play an active part in our business.

Membership is open to anyone who expresses an interest in and is able to promote the work of ANCHO. There are two categories of member – individual and group. Any individual, including tenants, owner-occupiers or any adult member of their household may apply for membership. No person under the age of 18 years may become a member, unless that person is a tenant of one of our houses.

Membership costs £1 for life and members receive a share certificate which never increases in value.  Members  are entitled you to:

  • attend the AGM,
  • vote for the Management Board
  • stand for election to the Management Board
  • appoint the auditors

However, there is no direct benefit from membership in relation to allocations, repairs or other matters.

The liability of members is limited to their £1 share unless they are involved in criminal conduct.

The full membership policy with details of how to apply can be found in the policy section of the website and is available at our offices.

If you are interested in becoming a member of ANCHO, you can complete the application form (pdf).  You can also view or download the association's rules.
